George T. Thompson

George Thompson teaches Church History for the Bucer Institute. Mr. Thompson's animated and enthusiastic approach to the history of the church brings a connective approach to the finer points of church events throughout the past two thousand years. Mr. Thompson has been with the Bucer Institute since it's beginning.

George Thompson graduated from Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights,Illinois, in 1978 with a B.A. in German, History, Elementary Education, and Natural Science. He then completed an M.S. in Secondary History Education at Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida, in 1983. He is currently headmaster of Christ Presbyterian School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Thompson is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, a professionally certified teacher by the Association of Christian Schools International, and a member of the American Classical League, the Classical Association of the Midwest and South, the Louisiana Classical Association, and the Society for Classical Learning. When Mr. Thompson was an instructor at Pensacola Christian College in the 1980s, he also helped write and edit several elementary and secondary textbooks for A Beka Book Publications.
